Building innovation capacity through INCUBA-UH

This five-month UCL-University of Havana collaboration, running from September 2018 to March 2019, aims to strengthen the capacity of the University of Havana’s innovation and enterprise unit, known as INCUBA-UH.

With support from the British Embassy in Havana, the collaboration includes three main activities:

  1. Two Cuban lecturers from INCUBA-UH, Leandro Benitez and David Lopez, visited London as guests of UCL for one week in November 2018 for a series of meetings to build their network and learn about different approaches to fostering innovation and enterprise. Their report is here.
  2. In February 2019, Jerry Allen, Director for Entrepreneurship at UCL Innovation and Enterprise, will lead a workshop at UNCUBA-UH in Havana.
  3. In March 2019, one of the outstanding proposals developed at the INCUBA-UH incubator will visit London to learn about possibilities for developing their project.
The INCUBA staff undertook an intensive programme of meetings during their visit to London
